Request

Hi, I am user meta:user:Walter. I respectfully request this community to consider my following request; I write a newsletter about what is going on in the Wikimedia projects in all languages. It is my hope that every community, like this one, has some people who read Wikizine. Then I can maybe receive some news from those readers about your project and in the other direction the can inform there community in your own language about the Wikimedia news possibly. I would like to ask this community to include on a relevant page a small banner for Wikizine. I could not find the local Village pump. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this.

If a banner is placed here on the correct page the change that someone here will think about Wikizine and report some local news will increase highly I suspect. Or that people will take a look and read the Wikimedia news. And maybe even share it locally. Here are the banners; meta:Wikizine/banners

Wikivir

Administratorstvo

Vsaka prošnja za status se mora izpeljati na matičnem projektu. V primeru, če na projektu ni birokrata (nam ga ne dajo, ker imamo premalo ljudi), je v primeru uspešno rešene prošnje, potrebno obvestiti stewarda, da podeli status. Najverjetneje je to iz Grand Brixov. Kako se uredi navedke če jih je velik, po času, temi? -Ta nepodpisani komentar je dodal/-a Sporti (pogovor • prispevki).

Idealno bi bilo, da bi bili navedki urejeni časovno padajoče navzdol, tako da so najnovejši na vrhu. Drugače seveda pri pregovorih. --Pasji pozdrav 09:19, 29 januar 2007 (UTC)

Navajanje virov

Ker smo Wikinavedek, torej zbirka navedkov, ki jih nekdo izreče ali zapiše, si jih ne moremo kar izmisliti. Zato sem pripravil stran Wikinavedek:Navajanje virov. Od zdaj naprej se je moramo striktno držati (upam, da lahko smernico spremenim v pravilo). Poleg tega pa sem še dodal opozorilo anonimnim urejevalcem na MediaWiki:Anoneditwarning. --Domen 16:44, 10 december 2006 (UTC)

Mislim, da mora ta "smernica" postati pravilo. Pravzaprav sem začuden, kako je možno, da ni bila to že od vsega začetka. Sicer je res, da so navedke dodajali večinoma zaupanja vredni uporabniki, toda še vedno lahko koga zanima, iz katere knjige ali časopisa je navedek - da bi knjigo denimo še sam prebral, če so navedki zanimivi. To pravilo bi moralo veljati za vse enako, in ne samo za anonimne prijavljene - točno bi se morali ravnati po njem tudi uporabniki, ki jim je priznano splošno zaupanje.--Lagos 18:11, 10 december 2006 (UTC)

Mora bit link res na konec napisan? Ponavadi je dolg skoraj celo vrstico, tako bi bilo bolje, da ime medija kaže na ta link.

Zanima me, ali naj navedke ljudi damo pod kategorijo Kategorija:Navedki/Ljudje ali pod Kategorija:Ljudje? Po moje je bolj primerno drugo, ker drugih navedkov tako ni (razen kakšne revije oz. časopisi). --Domen 09:41, 16 december 2006 (UTC)

Avtorske pravice ...

Kako je z avtorskimi pravicami na Wikinavedku? Če bi npr. prepisal prevedene citati iz neke slovenske zbirke citatov (npr. Hudičev slovarček) ali bi bilo to kršenje avtorskih pravic (četudi bi navedel vir). In koliko takih navedkov je dovoljeno prepisati (cele knjige menda ne ...)?--Wailer 15:03, 9. december 2008 (CET)

500 slovenskih pregovorov

Ravno brskam po časopisu Illyrisches Blatt na Digitalni knjižnici Slovenije, pa sem naletel na zbirko 500 slovenskih pregovorov (iz leta 1823, mind you). Bi to bolj pasalo sem ali v Wikivir in ali se da komu prepisat? Jaz si ne upam na pamet posodabljat takratnega zapisa šumnikov. Bot policy

Hello. To facilitate steward granting of bot access, I suggest implementing the standard bot policy on this wiki. In particular, this policy allows stewards to automatically flag known interlanguage linking bots (if this page says that is acceptable), which form the vast majority of such requests. The policy also enables global bots on this wiki (if this page says that is acceptable), which are trusted bots that will be given bot access on every wiki that allows global bots.

This policy makes bot access requesting much easier for local users, operators, and stewards. To implement it we only need to create a redirect to this page from Project:Bot policy, and add a line at the top noting that it is used here. Please read the text at m:Bot policy before commenting. If you object, please say so; I hope to implement in two weeks if there is no objection, since it is particularly written to streamline bot requests on wikis with little or no community interested in bot access requests. 2010 Fundraising Is Almost Here

Hello Wikimedians, My name is Sam Chapman and I am working for the Wikimedia Foundation during the 2010 Fundraiser. My job is to be the liaison between your community and the Foundation. This year's fundraiser is intended to be a collaborative and global effort; we recognize that banner messages which may perform well in the United States don't necessarily translate well, or appeal to international audiences.

Call for image filter referendum

The Wikimedia Foundation, at the direction of the Board of Trustees, will be holding a vote to determine whether members of the community support the creation and usage of an opt-in personal image filter, which would allow readers to voluntarily screen particular types of images strictly for their own account.

Further details and educational materials will be available shortly. The referendum is scheduled for 12-27 August, 2011, and will be conducted on servers hosted by a neutral third party. Zelo zaželjeno bi bilo, če bi se navedki zapisovali v navadni, ne ležeči pisavi. Veliko lažje je brati in prej vidiš kakšne ključne besede.

Pa še: na Glavni strani je napačno zapisano: "prosti spletni zbirki 2.447 navedkov!" Pravilno bi bilo: "prosti spletni zbirki navedkov 2.447 avtorjev!" Ali kako drugače. --Janezdrilc 20:47, 26. december 2011 (CET)

Announcing Wikipedia 1.19 beta

Wikimedia Foundation is getting ready to push out 1.19 to all the WMF-hosted wikis. As we finish wrapping up our code review, you can test the new version right now on beta.wmflabs.org. For more information, please read the release notes or the start of the final announcement.

The following are the areas that you will probably be most interested in:

• Faster loading of javascript files makes dependency tracking more important.
• New common*.css files usable by skins instead of having to copy piles of generic styles from MonoBook or Vector's css.
• The default user signature now contains a talk link in addition to the user link.
• Searching blocked usernames in block log is now clearer.
• Better timezone recognition in user preferences.
• Improved diff readability for colorblind people.
• The interwiki links table can now be accessed also when the interwiki cache is used (used in the API and the Interwiki extension).
• More gender support (for instance in logs and user lists).
• Language converter improved, e.g. it now works depending on the page content language.
• Time and number-formatting magic words also now depend on the page content language.
• Bidirectional support further improved after 1.18.

Report any problems on the labs beta wiki and we'll work to address them before they software is released to the production wikis.
